LOUD: New Orleans Queer Youth Theater is proud to announce its second production, The Pursuit of Justice. The Pursuit of Justice will be performed at the Mid City Theater (3540 Toulouse Street) on May 15, 16, and 17 at 8 PM. Tickets are $10 for youth, $20 for adults, and can be purchased by visiting www.midcitytheater.org or calling 504-488-1460. The Pursuit of Justice, written entirely by LOUD’s youth ensemble, focuses on the stories of five young people who all attend the same community Gender and Sexuality Alliance in the days leading up to a fateful event. Their experiences are funny, romantic, enraging and real as they discover what it means to stand in solidarity with each other.
The Pursuit of Justice kicks off two weeks of queer youth theater in New Orleans. LOUD is also proud to support its community partner BreakOUT! in its production of Say My Name, Say My Name. Say My Name, a collaboration with Ping Chong Theater Company, shares the powerful real-life stories of 5 Black transgender young women growing up against the backdrop of New Orleans, incarceration capital of the world, and the fierce power of self-identification. Say My Name, Say My Name will be performed in New Orleans at the Ashe Powerhouse on May 21-24th. For more information, visit www.youthbreakout.org or contact Nate Faulk at nate@youthbreakout.org.
